NEW DELHI: A 12-year-old boy rammed a Qualis into a group of pedestrians, crushing a three-year-old to death and injuring two on Tuesday night at Paschim Vihar. The police said one more person, Narinder Dayma, was injured and locals rushed the three to a private hospital nearby. Dr AK Singh, who attended to them, said: "The child was brought dead while the woman had injuries on her right arm and left leg.
Dayma had broken a tooth and had injuries on his back. They were discharged after first aid."
A postmortem was conducted on Vivek's body on Wednesday morning at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri, west Delhi. Dr Manoj Dhingra, a forensic expert, said: "The car had crushed his abdomen and liver and he died due to excessive bleeding." The body was handed to Vivek's family, who left for his native village, Dhoniapura, Bhind, in Madhya Pradesh. The boy, who was allegedly at the wheel, is also a resident of Jwalapuri. His father, Ashok Kumar, is a labourer and had recently bought a second-hand Qualis which he used to run as a taxi. "The car was bought on a down-payment of Rs 80,000," said a senior police official.
